We are back from our end-of-winter-quarter break and the team is back in action. Today, Milwaukee’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade wound past campus and we got to show off the cars to thousands of parade-goers.
After the parade, the team returned to the shop to work on the cars. Today’s projects included larger scale things like windows and body finish, as well as small scale things like an intake limiter for the gas engine and preparing sponsor logos for decals.
The fiberglass on the body isn’t completely smooth yet, so we applied some Bondo to most of the body exterior so we can later sand it to a perfect finish. Apparently some pedestrians walking by thought we were filleting a tuna on the street! We also got clear plastic cut to shape for each window. Overall, the body is coming along well.
We got the gas car running to end the night. It has some crazy acceleration! Check out the video below.
